AI brainstorming tool
An AI brainstorming tool that goes past the obvious
Ask a chatbot for ideas and you get a list. Ideaful gives you a map. Type one thought and it branches into ideas close to what you meant and ideas borrowed from somewhere else entirely, laid out around your thought so you can see how they relate. Click any of them to go deeper, or drag two together to see what they become.
Try it free. Your first spark needs no account and no card.
What it can look like
Type “onboarding new hires” and the ideas around it can look something like this. (An example, written to show the idea, not a recording.)
Close to what you meant
- Buddy pairing from day one
- A first-week plan that shrinks as they settle in
- A question bank written by the last people hired
From somewhere else
- Flight-school style check rides
- Apprenticeship rotations between teams
- A museum-style tour of how the company works
How you'd use it
Brainstorming is two jobs: producing options, then choosing between them. Most tools stop at the first. Ideaful carries on. Critics say what would sink an idea, Research checks who's already doing it, and the one that holds up turns into a one-page brief.
Start with a thought, however rough
A word, a problem, a half-formed plan. You don't need a brief or a prompt. Ideaful reads what you typed, works out what you're probably after, and tells you its read so you can correct it.
Branch, merge and push
Click any idea to branch it further. Push two together with Merge and they become one new idea. A slider sets how wild the ideas get, from practical to strange.
Choose, don't just collect
Let a few critics attack the idea you like, check the web for who's already doing it, then turn the survivor into a one-page brief with a cheap first test.
Questions
What is an AI brainstorming tool?
It's software that uses an AI model to help you come up with and develop ideas: you give it a topic or a rough thought, and it suggests directions you can build on. Ideaful puts those suggestions on a canvas, as a map around your thought, so you can rearrange, combine and test them instead of scrolling a list.
How is this different from asking a chatbot for ideas?
A chat gives you a list in a thread. Ideaful gives you ideas as objects on a canvas: close ones and far-out ones in separate rings, each of which you can branch, pin, merge with another, put in front of critics, or research. It also keeps the whole map in one place, so you can see how a session built up.
Can a team brainstorm in it together?
Yes, with the Team plan. A team shares one pool of credits and works in shared spaces: everyone sees each other's ideas appear on the same canvas within a few seconds, and you can see who else is in the space.
Can it use my own notes?
If you use Obsidian, yes. Connect your vault and Ideaful picks up the themes you return to and the notes you've already written about the thought, so it builds on your thinking instead of generic ideas. The vault is read in your browser and never uploaded.
Is it a mind mapping tool?
It builds branching, mind-map style maps around a central thought, and you can move, link and add to them by hand. It's built for coming up with and choosing ideas, not for diagramming things you already know, so it won't replace a tool for org charts or flowcharts.
Can I try it before signing up?
Yes. Type a thought in the box at the top of this page and you get a free spark, with no account and no card. Make an account when you want to keep going, and you get free starter credits to begin with.
