AI mind map generator
Turn one thought into a mind map
A mind map starts with one idea in the middle and grows outward in branches. Ideaful builds that for you. Type a thought and it branches into a map of related ideas: close ones that stay near the centre, and far ones that reach out. Then it's yours to drag around, link, annotate and keep growing, in flat 2D or in 3D.

What it can look like
Type “launching a newsletter” and the ideas around it can look something like this. (An example, written to show the idea, not a recording.)
Close to what you meant
- Pick one reader to write for
- A weekly format you can repeat
- A welcome sequence for new subscribers
From somewhere else
- Run it like a radio show
- Pen pals between subscribers
- Sell it as a monthly letter
How you'd use it
The difference from a classic mind map is where the branches come from. A normal mind map organises what's already in your head. Ideaful adds branches you wouldn't have drawn, then lets you merge them, test them and write the best one up.
Put your central idea in
Type it into the box. It lands in the middle of the canvas as the centre of the map, and the first branches grow out within seconds.
Let it branch, then reshape it
Close ideas sit in an inner ring, far ones in an outer ring. Drag anything where you want it, add your own thoughts and notes, link ideas with a line, or hit Tidy to lay the whole map out again.
Zoom out, merge, and take it with you
Fit the map to the screen, switch to 3D to see it from the side, merge two branches into one, and copy the outline as Markdown or export the space when you're done.
Questions
Can I make a mind map for free?
You can start for free. Your first spark on this page needs no account, and a new account comes with free starter credits. Growing a map costs credits as you go, and the plans start at a few euros a month.
Is Ideaful a traditional mind map maker?
Not quite. It builds branching maps around a central thought and you can arrange them by hand, but it isn't a diagramming tool with templates, themes or image export. It's for generating and choosing ideas. If you need a polished diagram for a slide, a dedicated mind map tool will suit that better.
Can I add my own branches?
Yes. Place your own thoughts and notes anywhere on the canvas, link them to anything with a line, and branch them like any other idea. Generated and hand-made branches sit side by side.
Does it work in 3D?
Yes. One switch turns the flat map into a 3D space you can orbit, which helps when a map gets crowded. Everything works the same in both.
Can I export my mind map?
You can copy the map as an outline in Markdown, which pastes straight into a document or a notes app, and export the whole space as a file you can re-import later. There's no image export yet.
Can a team edit one map together?
Yes, on the Team plan. Shared spaces update for everyone within a few seconds, so a group can grow one map together and see who else is in it.
Can I try it before signing up?
Yes. Type a thought in the box at the top of this page and you get a free spark, with no account and no card. Make an account when you want to keep going, and you get free starter credits to begin with.
