Ideaful

For product teams

Explore features before you build them

Roadmaps fill up with the first idea someone said out loud. Ideaful lets you explore the neighbourhood of a problem first: type a user pain or a metric you want to move, and see feature ideas that sit close to it, plus ones from other products and other industries.

Try it free. Your first spark needs no account and no card.

What it can look like

Type “users quit during onboarding” and the ideas around it can look something like this. (An example, written to show the idea, not a recording.)

users quit during onboarding

Close to what you meant

  • A checklist that remembers your progress
  • A first task that finishes in one minute
  • Import your data instead of typing it

From somewhere else

  • Game-style tutorials that teach by playing
  • Airport kiosk flow: only the next step visible

How you'd use it

Merge two ideas into one smaller, sharper feature. Review then raises the objections an engineer, a power user and a competitor would, and Research shows who already ships something like it. Brief turns the survivor into a one-pager with a first experiment.

  1. Spark the problem, not the solution

Start with what users run into. You get fixes at different sizes, from a tweak to a rethink, and a few borrowed from products that solved a similar friction.

  2. Merge into one smaller feature

Two decent ideas often make one great, smaller one. Merge shows you the version that needs both.

  3. Pressure-test it before the roadmap

Review plays the engineer who'll build it, the power user who'll hate it and the competitor who already has it. Research checks who ships it. Brief gives you a one-pager with a first experiment.

Questions

Does it replace user research?

No. It generates options and objections fast, so your research time goes to the ideas worth checking. Real users still tell you what's true.

Can my whole team use it together?

Ideaful is built for one person thinking at a time right now. Teams use it to prepare: each person explores alone and brings their best two ideas to the meeting.

Can I try it before signing up?

Yes. Type a thought in the box at the top of this page and you get a free spark, with no account and no card. Make an account when you want to keep going, and you get free starter credits to begin with.
